Vicarious Robotics approached FundamentalVR to create a training application for their novel medical robotics platform. As the lead developer, I managed a small team of talented engineers to tackle the complex task of realising this brief. This included writing custom inverse kinematics, soft tissue and suturing simulations, all through the lens of Vicarious’ miniaturised robotic surgeon.
The result was a highly realistic virtual operating room with a number of training exercises, from simple pick and place to complex thread and needle interactions inside a simulated abdomen.
